Fortner Consulting will act as your business partner to help you manage your human resources globally. Our compensation services support you in designing competitive, transparent, equitable and cost-effective expatriate packages.

The Balance Sheet Approach

Utilizing the Balance Sheet Approach, we will work with your organisation to establish a consistent relationship between the expatriate host country compensation and their colleagues’ home country compensation.  The Balance Sheet approach provides your company with a consistent, methodical tool to approach all of your international assignments.   Your expatriate will retain their home country’s standard of living while ensuring the employee will “neither gain nor lose” on their overseas assignment.   Factors such as cost of living, quality of living, housing, car and other allowances are all factored into when comparing host country to home country.

Utilizing the Balance Sheet approach allows you to remove all of the normal headaches associated with repatriation and reassignment to the home country.  The employee will simply slide back into your structured salary programme for their home country.  It will as well facilitate and encourage employees to accept overseas assignments due to its clarity and forward planning while ensuring all expatriates from the same home country are treated equally and transparently.
